AQS.com is now the youngest three letter .com (LLL) domain name in the known cosmos, after expiring and dropping.
Originally registered way back in 1995, AQS.com was in the possession of Georgia-based Air Quality Sciences, Inc.
The company was founded in 1989 and was acquired in 2011 by UL Environment, which itself operates from the two letter domain name UL.com.
Fast forward a decade later, and AQS.com was not renewed. Perhaps someone in the company dropped the proverbial ball, as the email address was linked to the AQS.com domain. The last registrar was MarkMonitor.
Currently, AQS.com is in auction at DropCatch, which grabbed the domain name at the drop. The price is expected to hit five figures hours after its start; there are 3 full days remaining until the end of the auction.
There are plenty of AQS trademarks at the USPTO.
