If you’re a fan of Jennifer Love Hewitt that means you’re 40 years old at a minimum. The multi-talented actress, producer and singer rose to stardom in the mid 1990’s to mid 2000’s and in recent years she forayed into music and writing books.
Not surprisingly, it was only during the 1990s-2000s that the matching domain, JenniferLoveHewitt.com, displayed any related content about Jennifer Love Hewitt. From 2006 to 2019 crickets chirped and in 2019 the domain was forwarding to her Instagram account.
Was JenniferLoveHewitt.com owned and operated by the actress?
Historic WHOIS data via DomainTools show a company Love Songs, Inc. as the registrant at the time, followed by All American Media in 2020. It’s quite possible that the latter acquired the domain on Afternic; the DNS changed temporarily in December 2020. There’s a record of it listed for $4,999 dollars but NameBio recorded the sale at $250 dollars.
But then things turned weird!
The domain retained its 1998 registration date until it was suddenly sent into deletion ahead of its expiration on November 16, 2021. It was promptly picked up by DropCatch where it was auctioned off for three days. The auction ended at $1,600 dollars.
Why would JenniferLoveHewitt.com get deleted a full month ahead of its expiration date? Was there some type of legal threat or other event that pushed the domain’s owner to delete the domain?
We are not sure; it’s definitely an odd domain auction and we’ll have to wait and see if the domain was picked up by a domain investor .
It’s being repurposed as a Scarlett Johansson fan site
