ΠΑΤΡΙΔΑ (Patrida) is a new Greek political party, co-founded by independent, right-wing (Conservative) politician Constantinos Bogdanos.
The party’s launch was announced earlier today on social media, operating from the domain name Patrida.net.
Patrida means “fatherland” in modern Greek, as the ancient Greek word “patris” (πατρίς) stems from “pater” (πατήρ) or “father.” The Greek word gave birth to the words patriot and patriotic in the English language.
Mr. Bogdanos announced the new party’s “clear” principles: Fatherland, religion, family, and financial freedom. The ΠΑΤΡΙΔΑ party’s byline is “Patriotic Force for Change.”
The Patrida logo is composed of three sweeping shapes in blue, red, and cyan, forming a flame. It bears quite a bit of resemblance to the logo of the French nationalist party Rassemblement National (National Party) that consists of similar shapes and colors.
The domain name Patrida.net was registered in August of 2022.
Meanwhile, the more obvious choice, Patrida.gr, is already registered and for sale on Sedo with an open offer. The matching .com domain, Patrida.com, is on sale at Dan.com, listed at at $6,000 dollars or via a monthly payment plan.
Perhaps Mr. Bogdanos would seize the opportunity to get the .com for obvious reasons.
