Colonoscopy.com: High authority domain appears to be broken

March has been designated as Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, and a good time to learn more about colorectal cancer and how it can be prevented or treated. The screening colonoscopy procedure is important to detect and treat early colorectal cancers; Colonoscopy is used to help direct steps in oncologic treatment, including planning for surgical interventions.

I finally had my first colonoscopy today and everything turned out fine. ๐Ÿ™‚ Despite the frustrating prep process it’s an important procedure for men and women and I recommend that anyone over the age of 50 has it without any delay. It might save your life.

Naturally, after reading endless materials from a number of authority resources, I headed over to the exact match domain, Colonoscopy.com.

The domain name Colonoscopy.com operates as an “educational and networking platform created to generate awareness and provide advice about the prevention and treatment of colorectal diseases, procedures and exams.”

At least, that’s what the content looked like last year.

For some odd reason, the web site at Colonoscopy.com is broken with a WordPress logo and a “Coming Soon” message that used to count down to June 30, 2023. Apparently, no content has been displayed since, unlike this Archive.org capture.

Registered in 1996, the domain Colonoscopy.com is the lead extension and is taken in more than 50 TLDs. It commands solid traffic and backlinks, per this Ubersuggest report:

Apparently, all this referral and type-in traffic is now ending up in a black hole.

I don’t believe that the domain has been sold and most likely it’s a glitch with the hosting provider’s implementation of WordPress.

Edit 3/2/2024: The domain Colonoscopy.com, when viewed on a mobile device, forwards to a series of ads. In my opinion, someone has installed malware that hijacks the WordPress installation.
