Domain investor Adam Maysonet has a reputation for being stubborn, especially when it came to his prized possession: the domain name Snitch.com.
For 19 years, he turned down every offer that came his way, convinced the domain was a goldmine waiting to be discovered. Adam’s cousin Dennis never missed a chance to poke fun at him.
“Who’s gonna pay big bucks for a grad school tattle-telling domain?” Dennis would laugh.
Over the years, Adam received all sorts of ridiculous offers, ranging from $50 cash to $1,000 and a year’s supply of razor blades. But Adam just laughed them off, filing each one to his “Nope” folder as he waited for the big payday.
Out of the blue, one day it finally happened.
Adam opened an email from Afternic and nearly fell out of his chair: someone actually bought Sintch.com for a whopping $100,000. After nearly two decades of waiting, he was finally cashing in, big time!
Adam couldn’t stop grinning.
“I told you, Dennis, snitching always pays off, especially when you hold out for 19 years!”
Dennis looked at his hands, coughed, and said:
“Oh, good for you bro. But I’m expecting a good chunk of it. Remember, I know what you did last summer!”
Suddenly, Adam stopped laughing.
