In an apparent strike of genius, GoDaddy introduced Search Insights for Afternic-listed domains but kept the feature away from non-paying members.
While anyone can sell domains on Afternic using a standard account, the Search Insights feature is reserved for the Domain Discount Club Pro paid tier, which costs $270 /year currently.
Search Insights is basically statistical information about one’s domain portfolio at Afternic. Instead of providing it across the board to all Afternic members, GoDaddy management’s decision only provides it to the top tier of its paid service.
This is basic search data we’re talking about here—not a secret sauce recipe for success.
The news was met with harsh responses on X and on NamePros.
