Server. Throwing. Champions. It’s a real event, and Alta Technologies proved they’re as strong in the field as they are in the data center.
The company held its own Server Throwing Qualifier to choose representatives for Miami’s CloudFest event, on space shared with NamesCon 2025. From that fiercely competitive showdown, two standouts emerged: Ryan “The Rocket” Mezera, ITAD Partner Manager, and Eugene “The Decommissioner” Olaru, Director of Operations.
They advanced to CloudFest USA in Miami, where engineers, sysadmins, and hardware veterans gathered to determine who could hurl a server the farthest; no warranties, no worries, pure distance.
What happened next was simple: dominance.
Ryan Mezera became the official 2025 USA Server Throwing Champion. Eugene Olaru secured second place in the Over-40 category, missing the top spot by barely half an inch after careful review.
Alta marked the achievement by surprising Ryan with his championship trophy in front of the entire team, celebrating a moment of strength, skill, and a bit of well-aimed flight. 😀
