Gotta love homophones, words that sound alike. When you think of dot .COM, there’s only one way to spell it, right?
Wrong.
How about writing it as “.KOM” then, and even if that’s not a real TLD it can still become a brand.

.KOM
The applicants for the .KOM trademark thought exactly that, filing a trademark registration for the following classes:
Apparel for dancers, namely, tee shirts, sweatshirts, pants, leggings, shorts and jackets
Production of podcasts
The application is currently frozen due to some technicalities: when applying for a trademark jointly with a partner, don’t change the partnership before the trademark is decided upon, as it requires a bunch of additional documents.
There’s no web site for the .KOM as of yet, but have no doubt that it’ll be on a .COM domain.
Update:
THE ABOVE IDENTIFIED TRADEMARK APPLICATION WAS ABANDONED ON 07/15/2021 FOR THE FOLLOWING REASON:
ALTHOUGH APPLICANT’S RESPONSE TO THE OFFICE ACTION DATED 05/06/2021 WAS RECEIVED IN THE PATENT AND TRADEMARK OFFICE WITHIN THE STATUTORY PERIOD, THE RESPONSE FAILED TO MEET THE RELEVANT STATUTORY AND/OR REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS. (TRADEMARK RULE 2.65(a)).
