Cholo is a reference to a certain look among people of Hispanic origin, and while it can be derogatory, it mainly indicates a particular dressing code.
According to UrbanDictionary:
A cholo is term implying a Hispanic male that typically dresses in chinos (khahki pants), a wifebeater sleeveless teeshirt or a flannel shirt with only the top buttoned, a hairnet, or with a bandana around the forehead, usually halfway down over the eyes. Cholos often have black ink tattoos, commonly involving Catholic imagery, or calligraphy messages or family names.
The domain Cholo.com dropped, and it’s now being auctioned on DropCatch.
Originally registered in the late 90’s, Cholo.com dropped and was re-registered in 2001, like thousands of other keyword domains.
That’s the earliest registration date that DomainTools retained, to a Korean registrant. There are no recorded sales on NameBio but the domain changed hands through the years. Until 2013 it was displaying information about dogs as a “pet store” brand.
We aren’t sure what led its most recent registrant, Holly H. Towne, to drop the domain. Currently, the auction at DropCatch is at $3,614 dollars, with 68 bidders and 90 bids; the auction ends in two days.
Cholo.com has a lot of potential, but if you’re bidding keep in mind that there are 17 live trademarks in the USPTO that contain the word CHOLO.
