CNNSi.com, a domain previously owned by the Turner Corporation, dropped again and ended up on DropCatch.
The domain was used in the past by CNN and Sports Illustrated, pointing to SportsIllustrated.CNN.com and later on to the Bleach Report. In recent years, the domain was in the possession of Chinese domain registrants, after dropping in 2015, eighteen years after its registration in 1997.
The winner of the DropCatch auction, “dropper,” willingly bid $9,001 dollars to acquire a domain with serious trademark issues: CNN and SI are both registered trademarks in the US.
