Apple‘s upcoming WWDC22 presentation is highly anticipated; the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference this year takes place in the San Jose Convention Center in California (Mon, Jun 6, 2022 – Fri, Jun 10, 2022.)
Apple will most likely reveal new software upgrades and perhaps a few hardware surprises.
The all-digital event requires “digital lounges” that are virtual spots for engineers and designers to showcase their products. Registrations for these Digital Lounges have closed as the event begins on Monday.
Apple introduced the Digital Lounges in 2021, thanks to the pandemic’s onslaught on in-person conferences. Although WWDC 2022 is being held digitally, Apple plans to host an in-person viewing event at Apple Park for some select developers and students. Apple has described the in-person component as a “special day” on June 6 that will bring some attendees together to watch the event on Apple’s campus. Source: MacRumors.
An interesting note: the matching domain name, DigitalLounges.com, was registered in early 2021, at a time that Apple was hinting of its plans.
The web site hosts what appears to be a student’s blog. Could it be that someone actually chose this name as their personal, non-tech oriented blog and hosted it on WordPress.com right as Apple prepped for its digital conference?
In our opinion, somehow it sounds too convenient. 😉
So far, Apple has not applied for the registration of the matching mark at the USPTO. A trademark for the singular, DIGITAL LOUNGE, was invalidated in 2014.
