Digitizer.com is a premium domain that used to bear a registration date of 1997. Then a few days ago, the domain dropped all of a sudden, and it’s currently being auctioned on DropCatch.
Why would the domain’s last known registrant, Austrian entrepreneur Peter Huber, let the domain expire?
Two years ago, the domain displayed content created by NBD Management GmbH, Mr. Peter Huber’s company. The corporate domain, NBD.at, actively displays Mr. Huber’s photo as a team member.
Could it be that Digitizer.com was sold?
A quick search at Namebio shows that the domain Digitizer.com was indeed sold on GoDaddy for a mere $3,727 dollars. The transaction most likely completed on Afternic, as the domain did not expire.
Historic WHOIS from DomainTools does not help any further: the WHOIS records since 2018 have been edited to display the message:
No match for “digitizer.com” in the registrar database.
It’s impossible for Digitizer.com to have been in delete mode since 2018. The active auction for Digitizer.com ends in a little over two days, with the current high bid at $2,303 dollars.
Surely a domain that would sell for five figures, now that domain investors with fat wallets are involved!
