Legendary domainer journalist, Ron Jackson, has had many successful scoops in the past several years, covering major domainer events and conferences.
In particular, Ron – or “Duke” as he’s known on online domainer forums – has been a reputable, long time correspondent of news and happenings at TRAFFIC.
Usually, Ron shows up with a high quality Sony camera with a 15x lens zoom and several gigabytes of memory cards.
Note: The amount of pictures taken at an average domainer conference is inversely proportional to the skirt length of beautiful women present at the opening cocktail party.
This past Friday, Ron visited relatives that live by the beautiful waters of the Florida gulf and used his beloved Sony camera to take pictures. Ron’s cousin, Jesabel, has a 4 year old son, Jesse, who is very cute and photogenic. Jesse also likes to toss things around, especially things that sit on top of a table.
Unfortunately, in one of those moments when Ron Jackson set his Sony camera aside and onto the dining table, little Jesse decided to pull the tablecloth, all the way to the floor and with it the precious 10 megapixel camera of Ron’s.
We can only say that it was an unfortunate timing for Ron, as TRAFFIC Las Vegas opens its glitzy gates this coming Thursday, January 21st. While there is plenty of time left to pop into any BestBuy store and buy a new camera, the shock and devastation of witnessing one’s most valuable business tool break to smithereens cannot be fixed.
Although Jesse’s butt is currently recuperating from being spanked red for his naughty act, we’d like to offer Ron Jackson our condolences for the untimely loss of his Sony camera.
If any of you want to assist Ron in quickly getting a brand new camera in time for TRAFFIC Las Vegas please contact him directly via DNJournal.com

Why such drama? Ron has plenty of time and money to buy a new camera. Being a professional photog myself I’d recommend a canon 7d. Its 18mp and shoots full hd video to boot. Not to mention canon is always a couple steps ahead of its competition including sony and nikon.
Nice looking blog!
Sorry to hear that about Ron’s loss, maybe he should get a Canon as his next camera 😀
I recommend Canon as well. Ron, get that new camera asap! We can’t afford not to see you at TRAFFIC Las Vegas!
I completely agree with Rob, seriously, Ron has the money, there are billions of people who could use the help more than Ron.
Folks,
Any of us who know (and love) Ron, understand the last thing he would do is spank ANYBODY’S bottom- especially a 4 year old! Much of this ‘report’ is flagrantly Fuzzy and far from the truth, but here’s what the FACTS indicate. This is what I know:
1- Ron does NOT even use a goony Sony camera of the type you name and picture- so that, in itself, immediately makes your report suspect, at best… and
2- A thorough report, and direct testimony from neighbors, police and the local hospital, indicates a FAR different scenario: It seems this “Jesse” was the next door neighbor to Ron’s family in Florida. When Ron (a mostly sedendary and gentle man of middle age) looked out, there was this bulging, 23 or so year old weight lifting, heavy drinking and highly tattooed drifter slugging away on his girlfriend’s (Laureen) young son Jesse, who was born paralyzed from the knees down and wailing in fear and tears.
Not thinking a second of his own well being, Ron put down his fresh carrot juice and raced to the scene. This Jesabel goon was out of his mind, so he heard nothing of Ron’s soothing words and simply flipped him to the ground.
As we all know, Ron is not at all a violent guy- but this was too much. With little Jesse close to unconscious and covered in blood, Ron got back up and wrapped his arms around this goon’s neck—I think Ron offered him one more chance, there was a “f*ck you.” But that was it. There was a sharp “SNAP” and Ron let the limp Jesua slump to the browned-out Florida lawn.
Must admit, I have no interest in that muscle bound creep’s “condition;” Ron knows enough of martial arts to have spared the jerk any fatal move. The point is- much as I am devoted to this blog and its abiding honesty… This is one article which I felt a moral need to clear up.
Otherwise- Keep up the great work!
Roy Flanders
Roy, the version you quoted is the Hollywood edit for Ron’s upcoming movie “Camera One”, a rather violent action movie about a man who is taken to the edge of his sanity.
“Guns”
As you no doubt know: Ron is an ”Old School” reporter: 1) -He cares not a twit about any domain name silliness, or 2)- fundamental forms of basic “sanity.” That’s why we all Love him!
…Thank God!
Roy
ps: All of our BS stuff amounts to gerbil piss—If folks really wanna help: Go to Doctors Without Borders. You can make _each_ dollar count; I know— I promise! It’s about Life!
Roy, whatever you’re currently drinking, can I have a bottle please 😀
Fixed your DWB link, a very noble suggestion.
There is a time for light heartedness..guys …but maybe the plight of the disadvantaged should really be our focus right now … I want to dispel all the rumours that Ron and Roy are not about to reverse roles! (..thank God!) but I do know that they would both much rather centre attention on how help can be mobilized to Haiti …Roy’s suggestion of Doctors Without Borders is a great place to start….ggg
Well said Gregg – although we’re steering off subject here 🙂 See you in TRAFFIC Las Vegas!
