GoDaddy is the largest domain registrar in the world, and a very large employer with over 9,000 employees worldwide.
With several hiring locations in the US and overseas, GoDaddy wants to ensure that there’s equality among its applicants.
Gender, race and religion are fundamentally protected in the US, and discriminating against them in the workplace is solid ground for lawsuits and penalties.
In its job openings, GoDaddy places a footnote that’s clearly put together by a corporate lawyer or two. The statement covers every possible aspect of what would not be discriminated against during the hiring or employment process:
GoDaddy is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. We will not discriminate against any applicant or employee on the basis of age, race, color, creed, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity or expression, medical condition, national origin, ancestry, citizenship, marital status or civil partnership/union status, physical or mental disability, pregnancy, childbirth, genetic information, military and veteran status, or any other basis prohibited by applicable federal, state or local law. GoDaddy will consider for employment qualified applicants with criminal histories in a manner consistent with local and federal requirements.
While it doesn’t explicitly cover extraterrestrials and time travelers, this great piece of legal work ensures that most job applicants at GoDaddy would receive equal treatment.
