Donuts, the up and coming gTLD applicant and provider of turn-key solutions for 21st century domain registries, is once again stirring the already wavy waters of new top level domains.
“We realized that almost all Americans skip a meal or two a day, but not many would skip desserts,” said Donuts VP of marketing, Richard Pumper.
“Nutrition is a $41.5 billion dollar industry in the US, and the trend data display a growing rate of double digits annually, so this is our big entry into the dessert industry and TLDs,” added Pumper.
Despite recent concerns by Donuts and other gTLD registries about the immediate future of new gTLDs, ICANN is expected to approve the new gTLDs in a few days, overruling its internal bureaucratic procedures.
“Thousands of people will rush to register domains in the .pastry, .cookies and .frappe gTLDs, and we are lining up dozen more generic keywords to ensure a complete domain market saturation,” said Richard Pumper.
“By 2015 we are expecting to hit a million domain registrations across our gTLD cache, and even diabetics will be using our gTLDs!” added Pumper.
Donuts is expected to reserve its “Candy” keyword for the owners of Candy.com, a company that still pays Rick Schwartz royalties for every tooth-decaying product that it sells to the public.
