Dot .Radio is a new TLD, designed specifically for the radio sector, including broadcasters, Internet radios, radio professionals, companies supplying goods and services, and radio amateurs.
Eligible organizations and individuals can now apply for their preferred .Radio domains, as long as they are are from the following categories:
- Unions of Broadcasters
- Official Radio Operators
- Internet Radio
- Radio Amateurs
- Radio Professionals
- Radio-related Companies
Dot .Radio will have an end-of-date Sunrise/Landrush period from August 23 to October 31, 2017.
There are strong policies in place, to ensure authenticity of all .Radio domains: Checks and controls will keep .Radio safe, so domain speculation won’t be possible, according to the dot .Radio Registry.
During these phases:
- All Sunrise and Landrush phases will run concurrently.
- Qualified radio industry entities will be able to register dotRADIO domains before the general public.
- Any and all applications will be accepted until October 31, 2017. Once these phases are completed, the .RADIO Registry will allocate domain names based on verification criteria.
To keep the dotRADIO brand secure and relevant, the .RADIO Registry will conduct verification at the end of the Sunrise/Landrush period to allocate names:
- Registrants are required to state their intended use of the registered domain name at the time of registration.
- Each domain name will be individually and thoroughly validated by the Registry Operator. Self-declaration will not be sufficient.
