Facebook announced yet another time-waster today, the Facebook Avatar.
What is basically a cartoon construct of one’s likeness, this new range of graphic images can be used to express emotions all over Facebook, depicting the person.
With that in mind, both domains FacebookAvatar.com and FacebookAvatars.com have been registered for a while, and not by Facebook, it seems.
The singular was registered in 2014, while the plural last June. The first one forwards to a broken parking page while the latter is a zero click lander – an indicator of a domain with high traffic but very little conversion.
Will Facebook take both domain owners to the UDRP process as “FACEBOOK” is a famous trademark?
Quite possible.
