ICANN picked Kurt Erik “Kurtis” Lindqvist as the new President and CEO, after almost two years of having an interim officer.
The new ICANN President and CEO is an established technocrat with impressive qualifications and tenure, making him the perfect fit for his new position with ICANN.
But not many know that Lindqvist was born in an autonomous, demilitarized part of Finland, Åland, that has its own ccTLD: dot .ax.
With that in mind, perhaps he’ll be working as the ICANN “ax“man to cut debt and unnecessary hires, towards creating an efficient organization! 🙂
