Discord is acquiring Gas, the popular poll-based social app that lets friends share compliments with one another.
Gas was founded by Nikita Bier, who previously sold a similar app called tbh to Facebook in 2017, which has since been shut down. Gas reached 7.4 million installs and almost $7 million in consumer spending since its launch in summer 2022.
All this was achieved through the viral growth of the app in repositories such as the Apple Store and Google Play Store. The domain name was indifferent and if it matters, it’s GasApp.co.
Of course, a “gas app” might as well reference gasoline pricing applications and for that matter GasApp.com was sold for $187 dollars in 2017. Source: NameBio.
Available on the Uni Market, that domain has now lost its window of opportunity as the app continues its viral climb via the help of Discord.
