Gaslighting.com: Word of the year domain has been terminated

Gaslighting is a colloquialism, loosely defined as manipulating someone so as to make them question their own reality.

The Merriam-Webster dictionary marks ‘Gaslighting’ as its word of the year for 2022.

The term ‘gaslighting’ comes from the title of a 1938 play and the movie based on that play, the plot of which involves a man attempting to make his wife believe that she is going insane. His mysterious activities in the attic cause the house’s gas lights to dim, but he insists to his wife that the lights are not dimming and that she can’t trust her own perceptions.

Meanwhile, the domain name Gaslighting.com was registered in 1998. Its last recorded web site with content is from 2013 when it served as a forward for Lakewood Lamp & Lantern company from New Orleans. Eventually, the domain Gaslighting.com was parked with Voodoo.com.

Unfortunately, Voodoo hasn’t been active for months now, and the parked domain displays the message “This account has been terminated.” The domain is listed for sale at Afternic with a minimum offer of $2,000 dollars.
