GoCaddy sounds like a great brand and for years it operated from the domain GoCaddy.com. The products associated with the brand: Multi-purpose purses and pochettes, along with other types of purses.
The trademark for GOCADDY was registered in 2012, citing first use in 2003. In case you didn’t notice, the domain name GoCaddy.com is one letter away from GoDaddy.com, both in the alphabet and on the keyboard!
We can only imagine the traffic leak that fat-finger typing has contributed to over the course of a decade; the domain was registered in 2013 but existed as far back as in 2005 and it dropped and was re-registered several times since.
When you register a trademark with the USPTO, you’re supposed to file a report every few years, demonstrating use of the mark in interstate commerce. The GOCADDY mark was registered in 2012 and by the end of 2022 it was canceled. The reason: Its registrant did not file an acceptable declaration under Section 8.
Oops!
This doesn’t mean that the domain’s operators can’t claim rights to the mark; it simply means it’s no longer registered with the USPTO and the registrant cannot use the Ⓡ mark alongside the brand.
Currently, GoCaddy.com forwards to the web site of a water-holding backpack that is produced under the PortaPocket brand that creates wearables.
