GoDaddy is emptying out its Tempe, Arizona offices, and potentially many other locations, due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
A photo of the empty GoDaddy offices was shared by GoDaddy web developer Jon Roig:
“Stopped by my office @godaddy Tempe to clear out my desk. I left @danicapatrick to keep an eye on things. Everyone is moving out of GoDaddy offices… and I do mean everyone.
Devs… that’s no big deal beyond capacity – I’ve been working from home for weeks – customer service as well. Heroic effort on the part of our telecom people.”
The biggest domain registrar in the world employs 9,000 people worldwide.
It’s unclear how many are in the US and whether it’s a complete transition of its office-based employees to home-based work.
Update: Paul Nicks of GoDaddy confirmed that all offices are moving their staff to home-based locations.
Other domain industry businesses such as InterNetX and Blacknight have transitioned their staff to home-based telework.
Don’t forget to go for your hike in the desert, go hike Camelback Mountain after sitting at home all day.
Stay HEALTHY!!
I hiked that Camelback Mountain couple years ago and gorgeous sunset over the Phoenix city.
