Gulf of America? Trump just might call HugeDomains!

The 4 years of Donald Trump’s second term have yet to begin and we’re already witnessing the level of madness that will ensue.

Fresh off today’s menu of changes planned by the Trump administration arrives the apparent renaming of the Gulf of Mexico to “Gulf of America.”

That’s not a joke. Trump’s pure hatred towards Mexico and its history and culture manifests in the Americanization of a geographical term coined well before the United States of America formed.

Quick lesson about the region’s history:

Before European exploration, the indigenous peoples of the region, including the Maya, Aztecs, and various Native American tribes, had their names for the Gulf and used it extensively for fishing, transportation, and trade.

The Gulf of Mexico was first encountered by European explorers in the late 15th and early 16th centuries. The name “Gulf of Mexico” reflects its geographic connection to Mexico and the larger region of Mesoamerica, where Spanish explorers like Hernán Cortés and Francisco Hernández de Córdoba made significant contact. The Spanish explorers and cartographers were the first Europeans to chart the Gulf, naming it “Golfo de México” (Gulf of Mexico), emphasizing its proximity to the territory they named New Spain (present-day Mexico).

So there you have it, MAGA nuts; Mexico was there 300 years before the US of A and so was its gulf, the 2nd biggest in the world.

Meanwhile, the domain name GulfOfAmerica.com is owned and operated by HugeDomains.

Despite its NameBright auction landing page, the domain appears to be under the control of HugeDomains and its DNS; it’s what the company does for domains that are too valuable to list alongside its regular inventory.

Will the Trump administration call HugeDomains for an acquisition? Do they even know what a domain name is? 😂
