INS.com, a premium letters LLL .com domain has been sold in a “large transaction” close to half a million dollars.
Registered in 1992, this 28 year old domain was brokered by Media Options. Previously, it was owned by British Telecom.
Drew Rosener, founder of Media Options shared the positive news of the INS.com sale:

A still active listing on Afternic for INS.com shows that the BIN price was approximately $499,000 dollars with a $275k minimum offer.
The domain has been sold to an end user in China, that have already set up a coming soon lander with content related to beauty, fashion, and other services catering to women.

And a fun note: Until 2003, popular references to “INS” were associated with The United States Immigration and Naturalization Service.
