The current starting price for the XBT.com auction is $2,794,600 dollars, or about 32.1 BTC. Bitcoin has increased in value substantially since the previous auction took place.
The auctioneer states that XBT, as the ISO 4217 currency code for Bitcoin, is recognized worldwide as the official financial ticker symbol for the world’s leading cryptocurrency. Many financial institutions have switched to using “BTC” however, as this link explains.
