Lumis: Secured at a fair market price?

Lumis, the boutique domain brokerage known for its signature phrase “Secured at a fair market price” just revealed its latest acquisition: UnderwaterCondos.com.

But this time around, the announcement’s tone was different.

The photo showed Matt Chase, Acquisitions Expert at Lumis, with lips pressed tight, a far cry from his usual confident smile. On social media, the photo caption read:

“We got the domain name. Secured at seller’s asking price.”

Apparently, the seller of UnderwaterCondos.com remained firm from the start until the Lumis buyer decided to pull the trigger on the BIN:

“We ran the comps for the seller, explained to them the liquidity gap, pointed to recent financial instability, tariffs, you name it!” said Lumis in a message, adding: “But none of it mattered. The seller stuck to their guns.”

Matt Chase’s LinkedIn profile now reads: “Still acquiring domains, even when it hurts the buyer’s wallet.”
