Mike Mann sold DepartmentOfWar.com—Buyer is a domain investor

Last week we noted that the domain DepartmentOfWar.com was up for sale on Mike Mann’s DomainMarket outfit.

Priced at $2,888 dollars, the domain was attractive to at least one buyer, who appears to have pulled the proverbial trigger that same day.

The domain is now being offered for sale at Atom with a substantially higher price: $83,000 dollars, “discounted” from $95,000 dollars.

In recent days, President Trump has suggested renaming the Department of Defense to its historical title, the “Department of War,” arguing that “defense” sounds too passive and the U.S. must project strength in both offense and defense. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth backed the idea, calling the Pentagon the “Department of War” and hinting that a change may be “coming soon.”

The original Department of War (1789–1947) oversaw the Army and military affairs until it was reorganized after World War II into today’s Department of Defense, bringing the Army, Navy, and newly formed Air Force under one command.

Good one, Mike Mann!
