You gotta love domain hacks made with ccTLDs; in the case of N.et the domain uses Ethiopia‘s two-letter code dot .et to form the “Net” keyword.
It’s not exactly clear who bought the domain which was used in the past to run a URL shortener business. The domain N.et was sold for mid five figures USD via the Dan.com platform. Its buyer is the CEO of a Fortune 500 company, according to the announcement:
We're excited to announce that N . ET has been acquired by the CEO of a Fortune Future 50 company. Our friend, Max @DomainHacks 👋 helped make this happen. The domain was sold for mid five-figures via Dan.
We're happy & also nostalgic about the name!#DomainHacks#DomainNames pic.twitter.com/ubnUUlMgOl
