Almost a year passed since graphics card giant, Nvidia, settled a class action lawsuit against its GTX 970 product.
The company reached an agreement with the class late last year, and the judge awarded damages to the class.
Distribution of the settlement checks started this month, and for each Nvidia GTX 970 purchase that was validated, the check’s a whopping $30 dollars.
That’s not a lot, but hey, it’s free money.
We’re using the exact same video card in a workstation PC right this minute, composing this post. 😀
Without a doubt, Nvidia continues being a powerhouse in the video card market.
Nvidia stock has skyrocketed since the web site GTX970Settlement.com was registered last July; stock has gone from $55 dollars to $165 dollars currently.
If you had submitted a claim during the class action lawsuit window, sit tight – your $30 dollar check is on its way.
I was just looking at the GTX 1070 for a gaming rig 🙂
Jamie – That’s an awesome card too. About 6 months after a new card is introduced, that’s the sweet spot to get the previous generation. See https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/products/10series/geforce-store/
