If owning a domain matching that of a US city or state is grand, owning an entire country as a .com is a humongous feat.
The domain Libya.com was just sold to domain broker and investor, James Booth.
The young entrepreneur “bragged” about his latest domain acquisition on social media:
“Acquired a Country! Libya. com”
Owning a domain such as Libya.com places the BQDN.com founder to an elite group of about 195 others, assuming that one person or company owns only one country domain.
Libya has a long history stretching back thousands of years, and its populous nation has been through a turning point, after the death of dictator Muammar Gaddafi.
Congratulations James, and salaam alaikum!

Oh yes how fantastic let me go to Libya .com and book a first beheading on the beach by isis. Yeah that’s a great domain. Useless junk imo.
Ron – That was back when colonel Khadafy (sp?) was running the country’s oil tanks dry.
Fantastic name. I still wonder if the France.com effect is a future risk for global GEO domain speculators.
The France.com administrative theft is one of the greatest travesties I’ve noted in domain speculation.
