Rick Schwartz has had it; the multi-millionaire domainer entrepreneur from Florida does not take well to speculations about certain functions of TRAFFIC New York – the upcoming domainer conference that’s due in ten days.
In a recent communication, Rick Schwartz was clearly livid.
“Listen folks, I’ve had it with this crap. While the TRAFFIC Awards are a significant part of the show, it’s not the only element of the show. Get real. We have keynote speakers. I mean, speaker. And his name is Rick. So the award for blogger of the year is not going to go to some funky oddball blogger named Bruce Marler. And no, the killer domainer application of the year will not go to that funky product, ZFBot.com and who in their right mind would seriously believe Tia Wood would win the domainer developer of the year award? How do folks believe these things is beyond me!”
In recent years, competition among domainers at TRAFFIC has intensified, in order to present themselves in the publicity light. Earlier this year at TRAFFIC West, domainer Nena Kooster from Austria tried to flash the audience by lifting up her blouse to reveal her buxom chest, thus causing an uproar; in the aftermath, Ron Jackson decided not to post the offending photos at DNJournal.com.
Rick Schwartz ended the conversation with the following statement:
“I’ll tell you what, folks. I’ve had it, I said it and I will say it again. So there, have it, I’m announcing the 2009 TRAFFIC New York Awards today, I am not waiting until the last day with all the big shark media speculating. I have a business to run and I know how to run it best.”
It was clearly a firm and impressive statement from the man who – along with Frank Schilling and Dr. Kevin Ham (known as “the man who owns the Internet”) – are considered as the three most influential domainers of all time.
Without further ado, here are the 2009 TRAFFIC New York Awards.
Congratulations to everyone who was nominated and especially to all of the winners:
Sponsor of the Year: Winner – TrafficZ.com
Best NewClick Program: Winner – Sendori
We “Get it” Award: Winner – Foreclosure.com
Domainer of the Year: Winner – Rick Latona
Best Overall Solution: Winner – Fabulous
Domain Hall of Fame: Winners – Dr. Chris Hartnett & Scott Day
Best Developer of the Year: Winner – Kevin Ham
When asked why the list of winners looks suspiciously like last year’s, Rick made no further comments but paused to smile for the cameras of DNJournal before he grabbed a martini glass of non-alcoholic & vitamin-laden powerdrink and a shrimp on a toothpick.

I think I will make a new business card with the title: Funky Oddball Blogger:)

LOL.
TRAFFIC has the best food of all domain conferences! Hands down. Rick’s the man.
Congrat’s to everyone who was nominated and to those who won.
