Spaceship CEO, Richard Kirkendall, announced today that domain names listed for sale on the platform’s SellerHub are now visible in searches on both Spaceship and Namecheap.
Often referred to as “registration path” searches, these direct type-ins into the registrar search bar often lead to sales.
When a domain appears in these search results—whether exact match, or keyword match—it carries a BIN price that can “trigger” purchases.
Since its launch in beta, Spaceship’s SellerHub has been expanding in features and visuals. Integrated into one of the fastest-growing domain registrars, the platform is now expanding its ecosystem.
According to Richard Kirkendall, in the near future the only way for domains to appear on the Spaceship/Namecheap reg path would be to be listed with SellerHub or Brandstore—another “coming soon” feature.
Spaceship’s SellerHub also carries an important advantage against GoDaddy’s Afternic platform: domain names listed for sale remain indexed in Google.
In recent weeks, Afternic representatives admitted that “SEO” is not a priority to domains for sale on the GoDaddy ecosystem.
This argument fails to acknowledge the importance of being indexed by Google and be found in Google searches—an important selling point on many platforms. Afternic domain listings are currently absent from Google’s index searches; the domains “disappear” from Google searches.
To the extent of our research, Sedo, Atom, SAW.com, along with Spaceship maintain their listings as indexed in Google.
