“Trick or treat?” Millions of kids in the US and other countries will take onto the streets today, Halloween.
The phrase is a Halloween practice in which children wearing costumes go from door to door in a neighborhood saying “trick or treat” when a door is opened to ask for treats with the implied threat of playing tricks on those who refuse.
The matching .com domain name, TrickOrTreat.com, is sadly missing in action. Not only is the domain not resolving, but it’s been offline for a good 16 years, if we were to trust Archive.org that lists the most recent capture in 2006 and nothing since!
It’s truly sad that the exact match .com domain of a major holiday in the US is not resolving but even sadder seeing that it’s actually owned by Disguise.com, a company that pioneers costumes (and Halloween costumes) in the US.
Disguise is doing great this year, apparently, and is slated for its biggest year since it was acquired by JAKKS in 2008.
That might explain why the domain TrickOrTreat.com hasn’t been up that long, someone in the corporate chain of command probably dropped the proverbial ball.
