TIME magazine has announced its person of the year for 2017: The Silence Breakers.
That’s the name given by TIME to the group of people that came forward to share their stories of being exposed to sexual misconduct and abuse.
In doing so, TIME wants to cast more light to these men and women:
“These silence breakers have started a revolution of refusal, gathering strength by the day, and in the past two months alone, their collective anger has spurred immediate and shocking results: nearly every day, CEOs have been fired, moguls toppled, icons disgraced. In some cases, criminal charges have been brought.”
Naturally, someone registered the exact match domain, TheSilenceBreakers.com, and it’s not TIME.
They also grabbed the .org, all while SilenceBreakers.com appears to be parked, registered in 2011.
