“Top Gun: Maverick” broke the previous record for a movie released during the Memorial Day weekend.
The highly anticipated sequel brought in $156 million dollars at the domestic box office as of Monday morning and $252.7 million dollars worldwide. The movie’s rave reviews attracted those of us old enough to be fans of the 1986 “Top Gun” original and new fans worldwide.
The Top Gun: Maverick sequel to Top Gun was going to be released two years ago but thanks to the Covid-19 pandemic it was held back and it’s now out with a vengeance.
Which might explain why the domain name TopGunMaverick.com was registered in 2019, perhaps on leaked information about the blockbuster movie’s title. While the domain was registered as far back as in 2010 on speculation, the current registration took place in 2019.
The registrant in 2019 was HugeDomains, according to historical WHOIS data.
The domain TopGunMaverick.com does not display any type of content currently, although it’s pointed to a DNS by CashParking.com. In 2020, the domain’s WHOIS turned private and the domain was moved to GoDaddy, where it is today. There is no indication that the domain was sold, other than the change in registrar that took place two years ago.
The official web site is TopGunMovie.com by Paramount Pictures.
