The Chinese owner of the domain 744.com appears to have recovered it, several months after a newly formed company called Associated Recovery reclaimed it as part of a pending lawsuit.
As we noted last month, a lawsuit that was filed to reverse a court-mandated domain portfolio auction, took over the domains of 3rd parties, who are unrelated to the original dispute.
Several premium LLL .com domains were involved, and this is the fourth short domain that we’re aware of its ownership reversal.
It is still unknown how these domains were transferred outside of the UDRP process.
We can only speculate that as they are all .com, domain registry Verisign observed a court order and moved the domains to the possession of Associated Recovery.
The owner of 744.com is extremely lucky: A three number (NNN) .com domain can sell in the high six figures, perhaps as high as seven figures USD.
