The former Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, who was brutally shot at close range two years ago, and her husband Mark Kelly have launched a new anti-gun campaign – and an assorted web site.
AmericansForResponsibleSolutions.org is the new front of the anti-gun campaign, quite the mouthful even for an .org. In a strategic acquisition, the .com, .net, and .info are all registered by Gabrielle Giffords as well, who stated:
“Two years ago, a mentally ill young man shot me in the head, killed six of my constituents, and wounded 12 others. Since that terrible day, America has seen 11 more mass shootings – but no response from Congress to prevent gun violence. After the massacre of 20 children and six of their teachers at Sandy Hook Elementary though, it’s clear: This time must be different.”
According to the Giffords/Kelly web site, Americans for Responsible Solutions will encourage elected officials to stand up for solutions to prevent gun violence and protect responsible gun ownership by communicating directly with the constituents that elect them.
We are most likely going to witness the anti-gun and pro-gun crowds ‘battle’ it out in Cyberspace as well as the political arenas.
