Ron Jackson joins DomainShane.com
Established editor of DNJournal and domainer extraordinaire, Ron Jackson – the most popular domainer of all time in user reviews – has taken a huge leap forward by joining the writing posse of Domain Shane.
The Domain Shane blog has recently acquired access to talent from all over the world, including Great Britain, Belgium, Thailand and Hicksville Alabama. The combined news total for more than 47% of the Domaining.com newsfeed, easily eliminating Owen Frager’s “The Frager Factor” from the top spot.

Ron and I had an agreement but our contract got caught up in whether we should allow comments. I insisted on yes but then pointed out that idiots like BullS ruin the blogs and that’s why he wouldn’t allow them. Hard to argue but negotiations still fell apart. And the way TechCrunch has disintegrated lately, passing TechCrunch has become a much lower bar to jump. Thanks for the laughs.

Shane – I missed out on Google’s IPO, then Apple’s. I will wait until Steve Jobs bites the big apple in the sky before I invest in Apple and iCloud.

Ron’s more of a friend to auction fraudsters and typosquatters than he is to his average reader. Frankly, lately he’s done little than put positive spin on abysmal domain news, hold the largest admitted auction fraudster in history in high esteem, repeatedly highlight ethically-challenged auction hucksters as shining examples of the wonderful world of domaining, and publish the lies of registries such as Neustar, never following-up by tracking their promises. DnJournal.com is little more than a domain gossip site, IMHO, leaving the really important news elsewhere on the Net. Of course, the fact that Ron Jackson owns lots of domains, including a healthy supply of .us names, is probably the reason that bad news is given only a glance, if that. Anyway, I hope his propoganda and positive spin machine are successful bringing domains to their highest values, because I own a bunch too. But let’s not fool ourselves and each other by touting Jackson as a top-notch journalist and DnJournal.com as a real “news” site.

if one wanted to alert a certain domainer to a domain auction that one thinks they may have an interest in without spamming them, would it be in bad taste to temporarily include their name into a forum post for the auction since it’s fairly certain that the person in question is monitoring their name mentions through Google Alerts so that they will see it? Or would that be considered BullS marketing?

Since we are domain professional and domaining is like playing with words, that why one has to be good with abbreviations
