Secret documents related to TAS Labs, ICANN and Area 51.
ICANN and its TAS Laboratories snafu brought to light a stack of secret documents, related to the early days of the Internet.
According to Tobias Vreming – independent investigator for the Dallas Daily Planet – the documents were acquired using the Freedom of Information Act.
The so-called Alien Invaders report was compiled in the late 1940’s to mid 1950’s, about the same time as the Roswell incident.
Not all pages of the document are complete, and several lines of the double spaced text have been blacked out, as it was common in the McCarthy era.
Part of the document reads as follows:
“[…] meeting with their leader, the group of alien invaders was isolated at hangar 18 inside the facility…[…] numerous schematic diagrams depicting transmitter and receivers […] exchanging information between computors in a manner of seconds […] the cable appeared to emit light and was not made of copper […] no heat was generated at the communication points between the computors and […] the entire mechanism can be reconstructed from materials available …”

It is clearly a reference to packet switching technology, fiber optics, computational devices and ethernet – all of it, technology that would be used less than two decades later for the creation of networks and the Internet and eventually, ICANN.
No wonder the under construction TAS Laboratories page of ICANN (ICANNt) states “On the Internet since 1948.”
