The partnership of Sedo with various domain registrars has created the Sedo MLS platform.
Pretty much, when querying a domain via these affiliated domain registrars, an option takes visitors to the corresponding offer page on Sedo, where the domains are listed for sale.
The drawback: it’s a 20% fee for selling it through the MLS platform, as seen in this price list and details of services at Sedo.
Some registrars, however, do not allow communication between buyer and seller on the Sedo platform, one of which is GoDaddy. There is no way to leave comments, either pre-populated, or typed in, unlike any other negotiation exchange on Sedo.
The following screen appears when placing a counter-offer to an offer made via these dissenting registrars, for domains listed on the Sedo MLS:
Once you click on the “Make Offer” button, the registrar is revealed. In our case, it was GoDaddy.
We aren’t sure why GoDaddy decided not to allow the exchange of comments between buyer and seller on the Sedo MLS. The particular domain is not listed elsewhere, for example, on the GoDaddy marketplace (TDNAM).
Could this special treatment have an actual reason behind it, or is it simply a programming glitch that will be resolved in the near future?
it is not a glitch, ii is called ego control.
BullS – I don’t understand. Who’s ego?
Have got a ton of offers but looks to be new people coming to register, and hoping 60 does the trick, currently on a 5th counter offer with one person started at 60 and 3000 they are at 500 now
I am referring that someone wants to control the negotiation.
What Sedo is telling you is…if you don’t like our TOS, go take a hike.
GoDaddy doesn’t like comments. Their “domain buy” service doesn’t allow comments so no one else will be allowed to use them.
