Several days after the rumors about ICANN52 in Marrakesh in Morocco being canceled, and two days after its initial announcement of “reconsideration”, ICANN has not issued a decision.
Ebola virus fears, perhaps overblown by recent media ‘fever‘ over the potential for a global catastrophe, eventually raised the alarms at ICANN. We noted the potential of such an incident way back in August.
Large, bureaucratic organizations that rely on a single person to make an eventual decision, do not produce results efficiently or expeditiously; while the Moroccan delegation is still waiting for a decision, ICANN appears to be dragging its collective feet.
