North Korean hackers that recently infiltrated Sony, were allegedly responsible for a recent breach of the ICANN’s CZDS and Wiki portals, according to corporate emails released today.

The brazen act involved social-engineering of the ICANN CEO’s uncle’s first cousin, whose 14 year old son used the same password on his Xbox Halo profile.

“It’s unfortunate that kids copy down important information from their parent’s desk, then share it on video game profiles to show off to their peers,” said an ICANN spokes-person.

“At ICANN, we are committed to security and rest assured that other than your full name, address, phone, fax and email, no other information was leaked,” added the ICANN spokes-person.

Further investigation revealed that most ICANN officials use the same passwords for their professional account and their Papajohn’s pizza or Little Caesar’s accounts.

It’s hard for most people to remember one password, let alone three, according to a recent study among domain investors.

It goes without saying that North Korea is banished from any future ICANN meetings, unless they provide a goodwill statement that they won’t be interfering with the multi-stakeholder model again.
