The Pirate Bay, a repository of torrent links that point to material that often infringes on the copyright of its publishers, is back alive.
After more than two months of downtime and a chase by the Swedish police that shut down its servers, ThePirateBay.se is still the official home page.
For now, the pirate galley image is gone, substituted by a rising phoenix that indicates the web site’s rebirth from its own ashes.
For more than 10 years, The Pirate Bay has hopped around from the original .com to various country ccTLDs and settled onto the Swedish country extension, dot .SE.
While the chase will continue, millions of visitors to The Pirate Bay should rejoice – at least until the next move to another ccTLD occurs.
Or, is it time to move to its own gTLD? 😉
