The domain Gay.com has been transferred to the Los Angeles LGBT Center.
Valued at several million dollars, Gay.com will be redirecting its followship to the Los Angeles LGBT Center’s newly launched blog, Vanguard.
Video chat company VS Media, has donated the domain to the new owners, that will provide services including legal help, education, health, and housing, as well as advocacy.
According to Jim Key, chief marketing officer at the Los Angeles LGBT Center, Gay.com is now getting 200,000 visitors a month.
Key said VS Media appraised the site at $6.9 million before donating it; they acquired the domain last year for an undisclosed amount.
Gay.com was previously owned by PlanetOut Inc. and Here Media Inc.
