Domainer comrades, rejoice, for the Soviet Union is still alive – in cyberspace.
Domain names under the .SU ccTLD, the country code allocated to the now defunct Soviet Union, are still alive and well.
The official .SU Registry at FID.SU is in Russian only, and there are still numerous .SU domain names registered, and can be sold and bought in the aftermarket.
One of them, Sedo, has listed thousands of .SU domains for sale. Some are priced as high as 10,000 EUR or more.
Automobiles.SU, CPA.SU, and lots of LL .SU domains can be found in the Sedo domain inventory; the latter with a minimum asking price of 1,000 euro.
While you can buy these .SU domains at Sedo, bring your euro or dollars, as Russian rubles aren’t accepted. 😀
