Dot .Blog is now a two year old #gTLD

Dot .Blog, the new gTLD operated by Automattic, the parent company of WordPress.com and Jetpack, is now two years old.

The domain extension launched on November 21, 2016 and its goal has been to offer bloggers across the world a great new name space.

During the past year, there have been 55,000 new registrations of .Blog domains, and a new logo was designed as well. We aren’t sure it looks that great, but what the heck.

There are now about 184,000 registered dot .Blog domains, according to ntldstats.

Rick Schwartz has his own dot .Blog domain, Ricks.Blog – but he doesn’t see to be using it. As the de facto Domain King, Rick also owns DomainKing.blog.

More details about the second anniversary of dot .Blog, along with other tidbits of information can be found at the official dot .Blog blog, My.Blog. 🙂
