Russian hegemon & war criminal, Vladimir Putin, has been hiding his personal wealth rather well.
Until now, that is, as Putin’s wealth of at least $4.5 billion dollars in palaces, vineyards, and yachts has been revealed through the help of a single domain name.
According to investigative reporting by The Guardian, the digital trail of Putin’s assets is linked through a common domain name, LLCInvest.ru.
An anti-corruption expert in Russia, who requested anonymity given the political situation in Moscow, said the findings raised questions as to whether there was a level of “common management.”
Per The Guardian:
After a year-long investigation, the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP) and the Russian-language news site Meduza have identified 86 companies and not-for-profit organisations whose representatives appear to use the common LLCinvest domain name, often alongside corporate email accounts.
The domain name LLCInvest.ru was registered in 2014 and operates entire on Russian DNS and hosting, making it impervious by non-Russian scrutiny.
