The three letter domain NWX.com has been reported as stolen.
Registered in 1999, NWX.com was recently transferred to NameSilo, and even listed for sale at Sedo.
Once notified by TLDInvestors, Sedo removed the domain name from its marketplace.
Researching the historic WHOIS data at DomainTools, it seems that the domain’s legitimate owner, Ron Bearden, appears to have had his AOL email account compromised earlier this year.
We have warned domain owners to move away from such legacy Internet providers, as they offer very low security and millions of email addresses had their passwords stolen.
It’s interesting to note that NWX.com has been offered for sale by some self-professed “domain brokers” for as low as $12,000 dollars, according to a NamePros thread.
