If you’re using WordPress as your CMS, soon you’ll “enjoy” the company of spam-bots.
Those lovely creatures, travel around the interwebs and attempt to leave their filthy content, from viagra pills to pigeonshit domains, as a comment to your posts.
The popular WordPress plugin, Akismet, does not solve the problem, as it cuts down on obvious spam only.
Its heuristics software is often fooled and bypassed, and spam comments start appearing in your comment queue, faster than Kim Kardashian acquires body fat these days! 😀
It’s not a problem for us, however. For more than a year now, we’ve been using Spam Free WordPress.
It performs its task quietly and effectively. During that time, 111227 spam comments were blocked and that’s a lot of g*ddamn junk we didn’t have to deal with! 😀
