A total of 58 domainers involved in long distance running, took part in the 1st Annual Domainer Marathon earlier today, in Dallas, Texas.
Coinciding with the Olympic Marathon in London, the domainer marathon included both men and women from all over the US and Canada.
“It was a spectacular event, at times I could not keep up the pace but I made it in under 4 hours and 20 minutes,” said Greg Ricks, a domain investor from Texas.
Domainer Shane Cultra pulled away from the pack of domainers, and by the 35th kilometer he was already a full 10 minutes ahead. From there on, it was an easy homecoming for the well-trained domain investor from Illinois.
“I was texting the whole time, taking care of my plants remotely, putting together the NameJet drop lists and making sure I stayed hydrated,” said Shane. “I was doing fine, then noticed this other domainer catching up and I got really worried about my final 7k.”
Apparently, Bob Richard Thomas – a domainer from NYC – decided to ride a local bus and catch up with Shane. He was disqualifed from the race and was entered into the Domainer Hall of Shame instead.
“I’m all about using one’s dirtiest resources in domaining, but the Marathon race is one event that no such cheating would ever be allowed in this holiest of races, rest assured!” said Shane while drinking a Gatorade and eating some home-made boiled nuts after the race. “My goal is to break the 3 hour domainer record this year, so training pays off”, added Shane waving to the crowds gathered at the finish line area.
Next year the event will take place in Boston, famous for its change in terrain and humid weather in the summer.
Congratulations to all the participants of the 1st Domainer Marathon!

You won’t last long in that 109F heat.
Nothing moves in Texas except all they do is eat drink in the malls and at the water parks.
